One of the gifts I gave to my family for Christmas was a couple days of rest and relaxation in South Lake Tahoe. We began our vacation with a sleigh ride and ice skating.

Richard and I are so excited that the kids love SLT as much as we do...so much so that we're looking into purchasing a cabin there.

Now that Gannon can ski, Mila won't be too far behind - so you'll know where to find the Blake's during the winter season's to come!

This year for Christmas Eve, I prepared a six-course meal for my family. So much work, yet so much fun! And pretty tasty if I say so myself.

Grandma Bull made the kids some BIG and heavy blankets (part of their Christmas Eve gifts)...Mila adores blankets - can't live without 'em!

And here's Grandma reading the kids the classic story - Twas the Night Before Christmas.

And before the night is through...Gannon has to sprinkle reindeer food on our lawn - for Rudolph!

I love, love, love the Nutcracker! There is a sense of seasonal happiness, that is hard to describe to others, I experience when I see/feel/hear this sweet ballet. I'm so happy to bring Gannon back and Mila for the first time, introducing her to a family tradition.
Mila did wonderful. We had front-row orchestra seats, so she was enthralled with watching the members of the orchestra create music almost more than she was enthralled with the ballerinas.

As we've traditionally done in years past, we visit the Capitol's lawn after the ballet to see the gorgeous Christmas tree. Here is a photo of its splendor.

Today is the last day of school before Winter Break begins! Gannon is extremely excited that today is pajama day, and that he gets to watch Polar Express, drink hot chocolate and eat popcorn AT SCHOOL! What a treat!!!

This evening was a special time...Gannon and his class, along with the other Kindergarten classes, performed a lovely Christmas pageant. They sang their little hearts out - and I cried when they sang the sweet song from Polar Express. What little angels these Kindergartner's are!!! Thanks BV for a wonderful evening!

After the performance, Aunt Nena and Grandma, along with my parents came over to enjoy a Honeybaked Ham that Geeg and Grumpy sent us. Delicious!!!!

Nevada City Victorian Christmas

We adore Nevada City all through the year, but especially love the town when they're celebrating Victorian Christmas! This event has the magical ability to decompress a somewhat hectic season and help you to remember the true spirit of the season.

And speaking of magical...don't you love these costumes?!?! I have special ties to the carolers that stroll the street because our wedding guests were greeted with some hot apple cider and their chorals as they arrived to our reception venue from the church. I remember it as though it were yesterday.

A special memory for me...

The evening concluded with my special people over fondue.

Gannon really likes to demonstrate his creativity by decorating a gingerbread house every year at Christmas time. I know I'm the Mommy, but I'm quite impressed with his gorgeous art this year. Although I helped to put the kit together, Gannon decorated the home all by his self. Excellent job little man!

Richard and I celebrated our 10-year wedding anniversary in the Big Apple. We had a full week of fun, fun and more fun! We experienced so many memorable moments we'll never forget: simply standing in Times Square & the Broadway District was awesome to me (I haven't been there since I was in middle school), walking through Central Park, being at the Rockefeller Tree Lighting ceremony, ice skating in the Plaza, shopping on 5th Avenue, experiencing delicious frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity, gorgeous Central Park carriage ride, eating at Bar American and meeting THE CHEF - Bobby Flay (see silly picture of me below with him!), watching WICKED at the Gershwin, cupcakes at Magnolia Bakery, drinking New York City cosmopolitans, the Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero, eating soup at the infamous "No Soup for YOU!" joint, St. Patricks Cathedral, Empire State Building, the Rock, Macys on 34th Street, the Dakota, and did I mention the shopping?!?!!!!

We took Miss Mila to her first movie today - Tangled. What a wonderful movie...I absolutely adored it. Mila however was not as impressed! She sat patiently and in awe of the big screen for about 45 minutes of commercials, advertisements and previews. When the movie began, she put on her 3D glasses, ate her popcorn and drank her water quietly. After 15 minutes of the film...she decided that she had had enough of that! Apparently the stairs were calling her name, "Mila, climb me!" Thankfully Daddy (my Flynn Ryder) came to the rescue and took her on another journey while Gannon and I enjoyed the remainder of the movie.

This is one of my favorite people in the entire world - Tara! My dear friend is moving to Germany...I'm so EXCITED for her, but extremely sad I won't see her everyday. Tara is one of those rare friends that totally "get you". I'll miss having her to bounce ideas off of, having her to calm me down in crazy circumstances, and having her to share those jokes only we got.

I guess I'll learn how to skype after all!

Tonight was the Butte Vista Fall Festival. We began the evening setting up our scarecrow scene for Mrs. Hale's class (Ding Dong the Witch is Dead was the theme). The munchkins were played by each and every student in Mrs. Hale's class. And of course, Glenda was played by none other than Mrs. Hale. We had a great time putting this scene together.

Gannon LOVED the rock climbing wall, bingo and candy bar walk the most. We enjoyed seeing a lot of friends and having a wonderful evening of conversation and fun.

1st School Field Trip

Today was Gannon's first school field trip. The Butte Vista kindergartner's visited the Sutter High School Pumpkin Patch that was put on by the FFA. Gannon decorated a cookie and a treat bag, made a walnut necklace and an Indian head dress, took a hay ride, picked a pumpkin and played tons of games where he won loads of candy and treats. Gannon had a great day with his friends, and was even blessed to see a few of his "old" friends there from NAPS. I'm pretty sure that riding a REAL school bus was one of Gannon's highlights of the day.

Our pomegranate tree has treated us well this season! And we've got a little girl who will sit in the backyard and eat pomegranates (in her diaper-only, of course, due to the mess) until we encourage her to stop. I can't blame her though...they are yummy and quite healthy.

Apple Hill

When it is time to take our annual trip to Apple Hill...I know Fall is here. I love everything about Apple Hill. All of the farms, picking your own apples, riding horses, corn mazes, wild turkey on the side of the road, the wineries, and the ultimate apple donuts!

Face painting is a must, and Mila is now on-board. After brother was done with his fabulous aligator, Mila sat down in the chair for her turn. She sat so still and felt so pretty with all that pink paint and glitter all over her face.

First Official School Project

We have begun - school projects that is! Gannon came home with a few pieces of paper with an outline of a student and some questions attached. "Mommy, I have homework!" Gannon exclaimed with such enthusiasm!!! So, we were off to Michaels for inspiration. And while walking the aisles wondering what we could do to create a fun student version of Gannon on paper, Gannon said, "Mommy, remember that one time at Miss Stephanie's when you put my picture on the paper?"...and so the fun idea had been created - and all by my little student! Next stop, walgreens to print his "head". Back at home, Gannon pulled out his crayons, glue, scissors and stickers and went to town to create what I definitely felt was a gorgeous masterpiece. Job well done Big G!!! You've certainly earned your first A+.

Kindergarten began today with an orientation where parents gathered with their child to learn the in's and out's of the school year. Orientation was complete with five learning/activity stations our little one's completed. The initiation was wonderful and so well organized. The best part of the morning was reconnecting with many friends, as well as making new ones. I feel confident that we found our "home".

Gannon's birthday crown...I'm guessing that we'll see this again sometime in April?!?

Alright - we finally attended the Nevada County Fair. For years, many friends (especially Kyle) have told us we have to go..."it' the best fair ever!". We'll we went and had a truly fantastic time. I'm not certain if it were the gorgeous trees, the smoke free event, the infamous corn dog or the wonderful group of friends we were with - but indeed, the fair was awesome and we'll be back.

Richard and I treated Gannon to his own special day with us before he enters the world of Kindergarten next week. We took him to Sun Splash and he had a wonderful time in Adventure Island, the ThunderBay Wave Pool, the Bermuda Triangle and especially the Six Chuter. After a crazy day in the sun, we headed to John's Incredible for food and games.

Monterey 2010

Our family traveled to Monterey this weekend to celebrate Daddy's birthday. We enjoyed our time in one of our favorite places by riding bikes, swimming, playing in the COLD ocean, eating fresh seafood, visiting the best aquarium ever, and resting in our new favorite hotel - the Portola...our room gave us the most spectacular view of the ocean. It was wonderful to eat our breakfast on the balcony while watching and hearing the seals play right in the ocean. This hotel was extremely family-friendly (think pirate-theme everywhere - needless to say, Gannon was in heaven). We arrived to warm cookies, Gannon was given a treasure chest of goodies, Mila a sweet little seal toy and they even provided Godiva chocolates on your bed when they turned your sheets down. Nice. We all had the best time and it was so great to see Mila love the creatures in the aqaurium as much as her brother does.

British Soccer Camp

Gannon is a Junior Giant!

The Junior Giants program emphasizes working together and learning from each other, not concentrating on wins and losses. All of the games are played at Earle Yorten - now this has been a total flashback to my youth, and I have had so much fun seeing old friends who now have children the same age as mine. We've all been having a blast. I'm so glad Jason got us involved!!!

BIG FUN at the CA State Fair

What a great day at the state fair!

Look at these two!!! They were so excited to go to the fair. They were being so silly in the back of the car on the ride to Sacramento.

We often play a French cd where they sing songs...and this is a song they were "singing". Already creating their own choreography!

Camp Smokey!!!

Gannon received all of the stamps on his "Golden Passport to Fire Prevention" after attending all of the fire prevention stations. When he turned in his completed passport, he was so excited to receive his bandanna or Smokey the Bear Award.

Days of the Dinosaur!!!

This exhibit was the main reason we attended the fair this year. Gannon was so excited to embark on this prehistoric adventure. The indoor attraction featured more than a dozen life-sized dinosaur robots. Pretty cool - G was amazed.

Tennis

This week, Mr. Man began tennis camp at the Racquet Club. His instructor is amazing and is teaching him so much. Tennis requires excellent hand and eye coordination, speed, strength and flexibility - and his instructor is definitely conditioning him to perform well at this individual sport.

I adore this sport and played often when I was younger, so I'm such a proud Mama to watch my son enjoy the sport as much as I do. Watch out world - he may have a lethal combination (the looks of Andy Roddick and the talent of Andre Agassi) on the US court! Go G Go!!!

To make camp even more enjoyable for Gannon, he has lessons with two of his friends.

And - he was pretty excited to get his Sponge Bob racket.

Overnight Fun

Gannon had his first friend spend the night with him this weekend. Mason and G had a great time and played so well together - even with their respective competitive spirits. We shopped, swam, ate, went to the movies, played game after game after game, rode the motorcycle/tractor, and swam some more. These two little boys were so very kind to Miss Mila and didn't seem to mind when she wondered into their path and stole their snacks or toys or game pieces - they'd just laugh and say "she's so cute". Such sweet little guys and great friends.

Our family went on a gorgeous hiking adventure so close to home - Independence Trail - with my hiking club. We had so much fun and we now know that our princess can certainly handle a more complex hike in the near future.

This evening one of the coalitions I am a member of hosted the Marysville Gold Sox game, so I took the family with me - and boy did we have fun! Although the heat was extreme, we saw some friends, ate some ballpark food, and Gannon won two raffle prizes (wood baseball bat AND a baseball batting helmet!). Family fun right in our own backyard...

While in Fairfield we traveled to the Jelly Belly factory. This was Gannon and Mila's first trip to this yummy and fun place. Gannon especially liked the crazy jelly bean flavors and wanted to taste test the craziest ones (i.e.: booger, throw-up, dirt, etc....). G-man was also impressed with the jelly bean-shaped pizza and hamburgers - he thought that was so silly. By the way, the new honey-flavored jelly beans were delicious!

Today was my baby boy's last day at New Adventures Preschool. Above are video's of his first day at NAPS and his last day at NAPS. This chapter of his life has been truly wonderful. We love NAPS and will miss it tremendously.

Notice that Papa is by his side in both of the videos and has been the entire time while at NAPS. I think Grand Pooba (the nickname he obtained from NAPS) will miss NAPS too.

This afternoon we took Gannon and Mila to Arco for some fun singing and dancing with Sesame Street characters. This was Mila's first live production and she loved it. She sat still the entire show watching and absorbing - truly adorable! The show was so cute! We really liked the octopus who sang the blues the best - although Miss Mila was in awe of sweet little Abbie Cadabby. A great afternnon!

And the afternoon finished at one of G's favorites restaurants where Kung Fu Panda makes the noodles, PF Changs.

NAPS graduation ceremony was this evening at the same church Richard and I were married in almost 10 years ago...kinda cool. We are so proud of our little guy. Throughout the ceremony, I was remembering the times my smart guy was only a two-year old diaper wearing baby just beginning this adventure. I could go on and on about the fabulous experiences we have all had at NAPS...I adore NAPS and will miss it - until Miss Mila!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And here they come! Clapping, hooting and hollering down the aisle!!! So fun.

Gannon was awesome - we were so proud of his "moves", songs and especially when he spelled his name so precisely and quick. But the most memorable aspect of the evening for us was when Gannon pronounced "I am thankful for my baby sister" to all in the crowd. We have raised a grateful and good boy.

After the ceremony, it was time to cut-loose and socialize with friends.

It's Dragonfly Class Fun Day!!!

Wow - the years at New Adventures Preschool have truly been a blessing. As a family, we have met many kind and good people that have become dear friends. Gannon has grown from a baby (two years old wearing diapers) to the smart, resourceful and brave little guy that he is today while at NAPS. Through the years, Gannon has made many friends - some he will continue his educational career with in the near future, some he will not...though we hope that all will remain friends.

We are so proud of our baby boy and we are grateful to all of the staff at NAPS for loving our son and seeing him grow ready for his future educational endeavors. And ready for kindergarten (I can't believe it!), he is!!!!

We love you Miss Steph, Miss Nikki, Miss Amy, Miss Rebecca, Miss Shelly, Miss Shari and Miss Taylor. Gannon has been enriched because of you!

Gannon and I attended clay class today. I was so proud of the amazing blue T-Rex that my Gannon created...what a wonderful imagination my son has going on!

Before Daddy took Mila shopping in Grass Valley, Mila admired some of the art being exhibited in the classroom.

After class, Rich and I took the kids to Nevada City for some lunch, a little shopping (Mila and I love PennyLane), and some hot chocolate.

When we were at a nursery, it began to hail big ice chunks...Gannon had so much fun "eating" the ice as it fell from the sky.

As if getting hit with ice and being cold wasn't enough, Rich and I found a Japanese Maple at the nursery that we wanted to take home...that meant that the kids had to drive all of the way home in the jungle.

Gannon thought this was so crazy fun!

Bay Area Discovery Museum

At the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito, kids are encouraged to play, discover, create and Gannon and Mila did just that!

Gannon and Mila explored the mock boats and trains of the SF Wharf in Bay Hall.

Always wear protection when near the ocean!

Next, onto the wave workshop where Gannon and Mila discovered the waves and tides of the Bay.

Water = Mila is HAPPY.

A fun part of the wave workshop was where the kids could try on costumes and act out underwater scenes (see the TV above where Gannon was "swimming" with the sharks), which helps them to recognize how animals learn to adapt to the habitat around them. Very cool.

The construction area represents the work consistently being done to the gorgeous Golden Gate Bridge. I thought it was adorable how they had orange construction vests and hard hats for the kids to wear while working so hard.

In the art studio, Gannon and Mila were more than happy to get down and dirty and have some fun with paints. Rich and I were amazed at how quickly Mila picked up on what to do.

While Gannon and I stayed behind to continue making/creating art, Rich took Mila to the tot spot...a safe location for babies/toddlers to explore and learn about animal homes. You can see from the photos at how invested Mila became in the waterfall area.

And she thoroughly enjoyed her time in the woodlands as a ladybug.

I mean - look at that view!

That evening we stayed in Japantown. Not my usual choice for the city, but it was fun nonetheless. The whimsical Japanese pop culture-inspired decor was fun...the anime-style wall painting and wonderful view of the city was enough to make my stay extremely comfortable.

Gannon LOVED the fatboy bean bag that was in the room. He jumped on that giant thing practically every moment that he was in the room.

For dinner, we ate at a little Japanese restaurant. Rich and I had our first experience with shabu shabu.

For dessert, we took the Muni to cream haven. Mila ADORES ice cream - I mean ADORES it!!! So it was a lot of fun to buy her her first scoop of delicious and real ice cream from Ghirardelli. She wouldn't let us put the spoon down - if she could speak, she would have been screaming..."more, more, more please!"

We normally don't allow such sweet indulges, such as ice cream, for the kids - but we're kind of on vacation...right?

My little man enjoys the ocean as much as we do.

Whenever we get a chance to touch it, we do.

In my home, May Day is a celebration of Spring...and today was a gorgeous celebration! The day initiated at the t-ball field where Gannon and his team, the Dolphins, played to their heart's content. Miss Mila wasn't certain if she wanted to cheer or join the team today?! After the game, we were delighted to go to the farmer's market (they opened today!!!) - I was extremely excited to bring home a bouquet of sweet peas and a basket of strawberries. Heaven! Next we made a visit to Anne where she provided us with tomatoes for our garden that she has cared for since seedlings. Ensuing our visit, we joined this year's garden tour and experienced some beautiful home gardens that inspired our newest venture...creating a vacation resort-type of feel in our own backyard - which is also why I insisted that we hire a pool man!

You’d think that after FIVE of these birthdays, it would begin to sink in that my oldest child is growing up right before my eyes. How is it that I am still stunned?? A little dismayed even! This moment reminds me of that line in “Where the wild things are” when the monsters say to Max as he sails away back home: “Oh please don’t go! We’ll eat you up, we love you so!” I just want to gobble my son and keep him this happy-go-lucky age forever.

Grow-up he must. He is so smart and capable of great kindness & great protest (especially at Toys-R-Us).

Happiest Birthday Gannon!!!

LOTS of Princess love to the Birthday Boy!

Gannon made his very own lightsaber today, so we decided to attend the Jedi Training Academy so he could learn how to properly use the tool. We were so proud of our 5-year old as he was chosen to hone his lightsaber skills as a Padawan where he learned techniques and moves from a Jedi Master. This was an awesome opportunity for Gannon - at the training he took the Jedi oath, mastered lightsaber skills, learned great moves and battled Darth Vader where he saw victory!!!

Anyone who knows our Gannon, knows that he REALLY likes pirates - so we decided to celebrate his birthday dinner at the Blue Bayou (another of Gannon's favorites). It is so fun to feel as though you're sitting under the stars while Pirates of the Caribbean passenger boats drift past...

After dinner - off to rides, rides and more rides. Gannon had an extremely wonderful time at Disney during this visit because he was able to ride every ride he wanted except the #1 ride he was looking forward to and that was Indiana Jones; he wasn't tall enough - next time buddy!

The morning began with Gannon's favorite character breakfast; Goofy's kitchen! We love this delicious whimsical buffet; so yummy and so fun! Gannon and Mila enjoyed baking a cake with Goofy and doing the twist with him as well. To top off the morning, Gannon and Mila were able to hug and talk to some of their favorite Disney celebrities.

After breakfast, we headed to California Adventure for great rides, good wine and lots of giggles.

Gannon had to "hold-up" the N since he has so many in his name.

Miss Mila - a true little girl - found this Minnie Mouse purse, fell in love, put it around her wrist and began to walk out of the store with it. It's almost as if she looked back at her Daddy and said, "Daddy, get this for me. Thanks!"

Gannon literally crashed while Daddy was carrying him back to the hotel. Mila kept looking at brother wondering when he was going to wake up and play with her.

We arrived in Anaheim today. We have a big celebration upcoming - the celebration of Gannon's 5th birthday, so we decided to spend this wonderful time in Disneyland!!! The majority of the day was spent in Downtown Disney & the evening concluded at one of Gannon's favorite restaurant's, Rainforest Cafe - check out his first birthday cake...yummy.

Note: Miss Mila experienced her first "spill" just yesterday and hurt her little nose. Although there will be a scab (war wound) on her nose in every photo of her during her first visit to Disneyland, we think she couldn't be cuter!

I had some work to do in Oakland, so I took the family with me. I had some free time so we spent quality time together at the Oakland Zoo. Have you every been here? This was our first time visiting this zoo and by the end of the day, we were extremely excited about our visit. The zoo was clean and open (lots of space for us, as well as the animals); we loved how they had animals grouped according to the region they are from. And the children's zoo area was so much fun! The variety of animals throughout the zoo was awesome and there were some exhibits where you could practically touch the reptile or mammal or amphibian or...you get the point!

Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans

On September 25, 2009 - our Governor joined Assembly member Paul Cook and signed AB 717. AB 717 established an annual Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day each March 30th. This evening, the Yuba-Sutter community celebrated this long overdue dedication and gratitude for our freedoms. My Dad was the master of ceremonies because of his Y-S Veteran of the Year status. Many of our local and state policymakers were in attendance at this event and spoke...most simply thanked all of those who served. Paul Cook, the author of the bill and funny man, was there and described the raw purpose of this newly established celebration. The evening was special.

Gannon was so happy to see his cousin Andrew. We had to make a special trip to the toy store so Gannon could give him a gift. Gannon thought his cousin was "really fun" and "catches the ball real good".

Thanks Karen for sending your little man our way. It was so good to give him a REAL hug. He was a pleasure...such a sweet and kind guy. I loved how patient he was with Gannon and how considerate he was when Gannon (literally) jumped all over him - it is obvious he has little brothers that test his tolerance (perhaps daily).

Fairytale Town Celebration

We had the BEST time at Fairytale Town today! Today's visit was made extra special because we were there to celebrate Gannon's buddy's birthday...Kent turned 6!!!! The boys had crazy fun, while I got the chance to spend quality time with my dearest friend Teena and her Mum, Maggie - who I adore! Additionally, this was Miss Mila's first Fairytale Town experience. Mila loved that there were pretty flowers to admire, the freedom to walk around semi-free range and she couldn't get enough of the slides. Beautiful day!

Bok Kai Parade 2010

How far he has come! Two years ago, my son was afraid of the noises and excitement of the Bok Kai Parade, this year he was a part of the gorgeous cultural festivities. He was a lion dancer in the parade with Kang's Martial Arts. He took his honorable position pretty seriously and did an excellent job. Rich and I were so proud!

After Gannon was done performing, he met up with his friend Madison and even got a chance to watch the rest of the parade. We love the ornate dragon that concludes the parade every year.

Today was a wonderful first day of Spring!!!

What a remarkable birthday weekend I had this year!!! Napa Valley is my home away from home. I adore its grandeur and timeless beauty and eloquence and stunning scenery and WINE! My hubs planned a teriffic weekend for us - just us (no kids...thank you Auntie Becky & Uncle Dean for loving our little ones!!!). Richard did extremely well planning our time away. He made me feel special...

Here we are at my new favorite winery - Goosecross Cellars. Delicious. This was our first time at this absolutely charming winery in Yountville. They were so friendly and hospitable...and their wine was highly enjoyable.

Here we are with great friends we spent the day with. Tina (celebrating her birthday as well) is from Washington D.C., Dorsey (preparing for her wedding May 1st) is from New York, John and Jill are from Dallas, TX (and actually know where Forney is located, Karen), Cheryl is from LA (an adorable aspiring actress) and my two new girlfriends, Randy and Jen were from Conneticut - they were in Napa celebrating Jen's last hoorah...as she is preparing to "try" and have a baby soon. Below is a photo of her at Peju walking twice through the "fertility gate" since she wants to have twins - a two for one as she referred to it! Rich and I gave her many hugs to rub our easy-making baby blessings onto her. Isn't she so cute?!

Below is a fun photo of Rich and another new friend Steve. I'll tell you the story behind this photo and Richard's new fight name "The Spiller" when asked...absolutely hilarious!

I love a good lunch and I had one today (then again, Napa always affords the most delicious cuisine). I had the most wonderful quinoa salad. Thanks Baby, you know what I like.

Now this is where I get REALLY excited...Richard made reservations at Bottega!!!

Oh my goodness. I think that Chef Michael Chiarello is amazing and I was so honored (sounds silly I know), but honored to eat in his earthy restorante. Luckily we had the ability to eat outside in the big comfy and casual tables right next to big wood-burning fireplaces.

The food was everything I expected...perfect.

The evening began with the Insalata del Bosco and the most beautiful crusty bread with a cheese/olive oil spread (Richard and the waiter agreed that the spread should appropriately be named "cheese crack"). My paste was the Risotto with Salmon, and Richard enjoyed the secondi Confit of Half Duck mostarda di frutta, wild arugula, pomegranate salad, red wine duck jus. The waiter paired our dinners with spectatular wines to top it all off. My birthday cake was chocolate-almond molten cake with hazelnut creme anglaise. I know! Happy Girl!!!

Close to heaven.

Other great moments of the weekend included going to one of my favorite spas (Lavendar Hills) for a magical mustard bath and therapeutic massage, savoring treats at Bouchon Bakery and a wonderful stay in a beautiful hotel with a warm fireplace in our room.

Our last stop before heading home - get some photos of Daddy in front of Castello Di Amorosa for Gannon. We knew Gannon would love seeing this medieval-looking castle complete with moat, draw bridge and torture chamber!

Beautiful Buttes

Richard and I hiked the Sutter Buttes today with a small group of employees via my employee wellness program. Richard and I have hiked the Buttes before a few years back, but this hike was even better - lead again by the Middle Mountain Foundation. For those of you locals that haven't really seen the Buttes...this experience is a MUST. The hike led us to the most serene places and enchanted forests. At times your mind wondered and it truly felt as though you were somewhere else...Ireland-like for certain! This a was beautiful pre-St. Paddy's Day celebration.
