On September 25, 2009 - our Governor joined Assembly member Paul Cook and signed AB 717. AB 717 established an annual Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day each March 30th. This evening, the Yuba-Sutter community celebrated this long overdue dedication and gratitude for our freedoms. My Dad was the master of ceremonies because of his Y-S Veteran of the Year status. Many of our local and state policymakers were in attendance at this event and spoke...most simply thanked all of those who served. Paul Cook, the author of the bill and funny man, was there and described the raw purpose of this newly established celebration. The evening was special.Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans
