Spiderman Ice Cream

Alright - Gannon is at the age where the sound of an ice cream truck creates so much excitement and even screams of happiness. With the beautiful spring weather in full gear, the ice cream trucks are sure to make their way in our neighborhood almost daily and Gannon is sure to stand on our sidewalk with his two dollars patiently waiting to flag the ice cream driver down. He was so delighted to discover the Spiderman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ice cream bars.

Big Brother and Little Sister

Gannon really does love his baby...

Kiss Me, I'm Irish

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

Soccer and a Birthday

March 14, 2009
Gannon experienced his first day of soccer today. Richard and I signed him up with the Parks and Recreation Department. His team is the Dolphins. The coaches were great and extremely patient - I was impressed. Gannnon seemed to really have a great time despite the FREEZING weather. What a refreshing way to spend my birthday morning. And after the soccer practice and games, my entire family headed to Roseville for some shopping and a delicious dinner (and desert - yum!!!)!

Girlfriends

March 13, 2009
Today, three of my closest and LONGtime friends came to my house and brought a gorgeous lunch in honor of my birthday. Aren't they the best?! I couldn't ask for better women in my life. I was most honored to share my Mila with them. I know that they'll always be there for Mila if ever needed. I love you girls!!!!

First Bath

March 1, 2009
Today, Mila's umbilical cord fell off and she therefore is allowed to take a real bath. Just like her brother, she loved every minute of her first bath. I trust that I will have a lifelong partner in Mila to indulge and enjoy salt baths at some of my (soon to be our) favorite spas! :-)

Bok Kai Parade and a Special Visit

February 23, 2009
Today we got out of the house and headed to the Bok Kai parade. And when we arrived home, we had the pleasure of a visit from my Aunt and Cousin. They live in the Bay Area and haven't met Miss Mila yet.

Mila's first few days at home...

When Gannon was born, Richard had a blue stork delivered to our front yard to announce his arrival "to the world" and he did the same for Miss Mila - except her stork was pink!

Daddy carrying his little girl into our home for the first time.

Grandma giving Mila her first sponge bath.

Mila wasn't sure if she liked the bath or not?!

Look at her jewels - thanks cousin Karen! We love our pink gems!!!

The boys are already having tons of silly fun with the baby.

Geeg and Grumpy with Miss Mila.

One Week Old...

My girlfriend Jessica came to the house to take photos of Mila. She was one-week old in the photos below. These photos are just a sneak peak...Jessica took some amazing photos that I am excited to share in the near future. So for now (until I have the ability and time to continue to update this blog to its entirety), enjoy my loves...

Leaving the Hospital...

February 22, 2009
We get to bring our baby home today!!!

Gannon helps me get sister dressed and ready to go home.

Above is a photo of her hospital bracelet (and precious little foot) or house arrest bracelet. And below are the nurses removing the bracelet and thereby allowing her to "escape" home.

Home bound!!!

Wishing our family well...

February 21, 2009
What a treat it is to have had so many wonderful visitors while in the hospital. It was so much fun to introduce our daughter to family and friends that stopped by to see Mila for the first time. We loved seeing each and every one of you and thank each of you for the thoughtful gifts that you brought or flowers that you had delivered. (All of the beautiful flowers made our room smell heavenly!)

Out of all the visitors - no one was more ecstatic to hold and be with Mila than her big brother, Gannon!!!

Labor

February 20, 2009

We arrived at the hospital around 10:30AM. I was so blessed to have many visitors while laboring. I loved having family and friends in my LDR. I had a very easy time laboring up until 5:30 PM or so - that is when my contractions began to intensify - I had to concentrate on each and every contraction with every ounce of my strength. I delivered my daughter completely natural, without medications at 6:34PM. It was a beautiful birthing experience.

We are proud parents of a gorgeous baby girl!!!

It's Time!!!

February 20, 2009

Gannon is at school and we're on our way to Fremont Medical Center to have our baby!!! Here is a last shot of my baby belly.
We are SO EXCITED!!!!!

Just the three of us, but not for long...

February 19, 2009
This evening, Gannon, Richard and I went to dinner with our parents. It was fun to have both sets of parents here...we doubt that Geeg and Grumpy would move back to California from Minnesota, but you never know?! Gannon was so pleased to have both sets of his grandparents around...he is one lucky little guy to be loved and adored that much!

Look at that bump!

February 18, 2009

Alright - so she didn't arrive early like her brother and she didn't arrive on her due date, therefore she is officially "late". Richard and I have been walking all around the neighborhood and I have been faithfully drinking raspberry leaf tea - I truly look forward to meeting my daughter, yet I will miss being pregnant. I love all aspects of being pregnant, especially feeling my baby kick, move and dance inside of me - I even like my big belly!

Waiting for sister...

February 17, 2009

Today is Livvy's due date. We're all wondering whether today is THE day or not. I had an appointment with Dr. Maddalena this morning and we ARE almost there! Gannon can't wait for his baby sister to arrive. In addition to sister arriving, his Geeg and Grumpy are arriving today!!!!

Getting ready for sister...

February 15, 2009

In preparation for Livvy, Gannon and I made some yummy meals to freeze. We made some pasta meals and chicken meals. It is so wonderful to know that we'll have some healthy, delicious food to come home to after the baby is born. Notice how Gannon used a real knife - know that he was well supervised! Thanks for your help buddy!!!
