Mid*Valley Mama

June 2008
A long-time family friend of Richard's and over-all great woman, Jennifer, founded a WONDERFUL local magazine called Mid*Valley Mama. The quarterly magazine features contributor's and mother's that are local to the Yuba-Sutter-Colusa area. I truly love this publication and I encourage all Mommy's in this area to subscribe to this great local resource!!!

I am honored to have been a part of the Summer 2008 issue as a contributor, and I am a proud Mama because my little Gannon was photographed and featured in the issue. He is so adorable!

Also, if you pick-up the Summer 2008 issue - also note the advertisement on page 25 that highlights the fact that our new Gauche Aquatic Park is a smoke-free and healthy place to take our children in the Yuba-Sutter area.

Bride and Groom Wedding Reception

June 28, 2008
This evening was Becky and Dean's local reception. It was so much fun to get ready with the girls (you can imagine the giggles and comments!) and to celebrate the Scott's vows all over again.

Bottom line: Gannon had an unbelievable time. He was able to spend the evening with his friends and the flower girl, Reagan, who he fell in love with in Hawaii...and she loved him right back. They danced the night away. Puppy love already?!

Last Day of Swimming Lessons

June 26, 2008

The best part of swim lessons - being with friends.
The yummiest part of swim lessons - red licorice earned after every lesson.
The worst part of swim lessons - having Mommy coat with me sunscreen lotion every day!

More Swimming

What a difference a week makes! My little guy is becoming a big boy swimmer. FRAC - here we come!!!

First Day of Summer

June 20, 2008

Summer equals lazy warm evenings spent in the pool and lying in the hammock, the smell of fresh tomatoes from the garden, watching Gannon run and giggle in the sprinklers, delicious fruit from the Farmer's Market and the creation of wonderful family memories.

Swimming Lessons

June 16, 2008
Today was Gannon's first day of swimming lessons. I signed him up through his school to take semi-private lessons - only three 3-year old's per class. And knowing that the class was being taught by Miss Nikki was a no brain-er for me because Gannon loves Miss Nikki. And to top it off...Gannon had class with his best buddy, Mr. Chase!

I must admit that Gannon was pretty apprehensive of the water at his first lesson, which is totally opposite of his attitude when he's in his own pool with his Daddy (think run and jump or cannon ball). I'm very proud to say that although his facial expressions were those of MAJOR concern - Gannon didn't cry once. I could tell that my baby was growing up and I was so impressed to witness him push himself to be brave and perform, even though I could tell he was a bit frightened. Way to go G!

He pulled through his first lesson very well. He blew bubbles, puppy paddled, got safe, scutched, rocket shipped, and fetched rings all in one half-hour. He remained brave the entire time.

I was amazed at his attitude about swimming this time around. I signed us up for the Mommy and Me swim lessons through the Parks and Recreation Department two years ago and he had a blast. Today, was the first time that he has been in the water without his Mommy and Daddy, and the first time he was expected to swim on his own - I'm excited to watch him learn to swim...I think he'll do great!

Father's Day

June 15, 2008

Gannon truly loves his Papa and Daddy, and wants to be just like them in every way. Take a look at the first photo below of Gannon in the tub pretending to "shave" his face - just like Papa does it.

In an effort to show Daddy and Papa just how special they are to Gannon (and me and my Mom), we showered them with gifts and love - and then took them to Old Sacramento to walk around the river and eat at Joe's Crab Shack. It was a beautiful and relaxing day. Our guys had a good time.

Happy Father's Day!

Kung Fu!!!

Today we helped a dear friend celebrate her wonderful retirement - congratulations Lynda! I'll really miss working with you.

After Lynda's party, we took Gannon to watch Kung Fu Panda...it was adorable - great story!!! I highly recommend it.

Hilarious Video

June 13, 2008

To all of my married friends - check out this video. Rich and I laughed so hard after watching it!!! The funniest part of this was that Rich made me lunch today and he put a note in my bag that read, "Tonight...it's business time". This totally cracked me up.

Enjoy...

Mom, Dad, Gannon, Rich and I spent the weekend in the Bay Area to celebrate my cousin Betty's 50th Birthday. My Aunt MaryAnn had a surprise party for her - and it was truly a surprise! It was wonderful to spend the weekend with my family.
