Living it up in the Southern CA sun...

February 15, 2010

We decided to take today and slowly enjoy all that our old home has to offer. I missed Coronado and the ocean. Richard missed the fresh seafood and all of the opportunities for activity. So, we honored our desires and spent the day in the sun and breathing in the delicious sea air.
The early morning was spent walking from the hotel to Seaport Village (literally across the street). Rich and I had fun showing the kids all of the artists along the coast, especially the rock balancing artist - we almost forgot about him!
Yummy breakfast at the Edge Water Grill. Mila loves her Strawberries!

A walk along the pier toward the Ferry affords us the ability to show Gannon the Midway museum (aircraft carrier with helicopters and airplanes), as well as real Pirate ship's (canon's and all!).
We took the ferry ride from San Diego across to Coronado - my magical little island where I could certainly retire to someday. Once we arrived, we rented a surrey. Mila had an amazing time as this was her first experience moving anywhere with little restrain and forward-facing. She clapped and giggled practically the entire ride around the island. People were pointing at her and smiling with her as she outwardly displayed pure glee.
We rode around to show the kids the infamous and beautiful Hotel del Coronado, and to enjoy the beach and ocean.
Gannon enjoying a serene moment.

After enjoying the ocean and lunch at the hotel, we retrieved our surrey from the hotel's valet parking (yes, Richard actually parked it with the valet!) we petalled back to the Ferry Market Place to have an ice cream and catch the ferry back to the city.

It was a tiresome day full of sun, activity and family fun. And of course, room service for dinner!
